How is it calculated?
Enter the distance you ran (or walked), its unit and the total time it took. The tool works out your pace (minutes:seconds per unit) and your average speed.
Formula
Pace = Total time (min) ÷ Distance Speed = Distance ÷ Total time (hours)
Example
Distance: 5 · Unit: Kilometres · Hours: 0 · Minutes: 25 · Seconds: 0 → Pace: 5:00 /km

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between pace and speed?
Pace is how long one unit of distance (1 km or 1 mile) takes (min:sec per unit). Speed is how many units of distance you cover in one hour (km/h or mph). They're two sides of the same number.
What if I mix up km and miles?
The result will be wrong; make sure the unit you pick matches the actual unit you measured the distance in.
Can I calculate my half-marathon or marathon pace?
Yes, enter the distance as 13.1 (half marathon) or 26.2 (marathon) miles — or 21.1 / 42.2 km — and your total target time.
